Arms

Arms

The arms are surrounded by the masons marks on small tiles surrounding the bas relief. On the left side a querubine holds an extinct bridal torch; maybe a sign of widowhood, and on the right side a cornucopia that may recall the second marriage. During Révolution this stone was kept back against the wall, thus escaping hammering. We don't know so far which families are associated to this coat of arms

Waters

The castle had to feed a gang of servers and farmers. It has big stacks but also water from a spring in the mountains. An extensive system of small canals ( "béalliéres") was installed to irrigate fields and orchards and water the livestock . This irrigation system was abandonned in the 1960's .
