End of religions' warThe Château du Bruget has not been the scene of important historical events, crimes or heroic deeds. It is a place of quite ordinary life, which makes it even more loveable for us. Of course it is strongly marked by the Guerres de Religion that tore the country in the 16th century and, to a lesser extent the revolution, As in every farmhouse in Ardéche the main rooms were used to feed silkworms and recover the silk. | A family storyAfter decades of pastoral occupation the Château du Bruget was acquired in 1947 by Judge Georges Balaÿ and his sisters Suzanne and Edmee. Georges Balaÿ wanted to reconcile the exercise there of a respectful human justice - the "Justice de Paix - and a natural agriculture that preserved "bio" species . Since then festivities at Bruget gathered almost every summer friends and relatives. |
